Every modern hypnotherapist should have a copy of this book which collects together, for the first time, the complete works of James Braid, the Scottish surgeon who introduced hypnotism in the 1840s. It contains a series of detailed introductory articles which provide an overview of the original hypnotism practised by Braid and outline the early history of the subject. The first of Braid’s works included is a translation of the previously “lost manuscript” written by Braid shortly before his death in 1860.
